What is a FunPod?
A FunPod is an illustrated card with a secure NFC chip inside. When you tap it on a phone running the FunPods app, it opens the experience linked to it: stories, lessons, quizzes, music or revision.
Do I need a special speaker or device?
No. Your phone is the player. During the pilot, FunPods works on Android phones and tablets with NFC, which most modern Android phones have. iPhone support is planned, not available yet.
Is the content stored on the pod?
No. The card holds only its ID and security keys: no names, no recordings, no listening positions. The content downloads to your phone and is kept there, so FunPods you have used work offline.
Can one FunPod be used on more than one phone?
Yes. During the pilot, each FunPod can be linked to two devices, for example a parent’s phone and a tablet. Each device keeps its own listening place. A parent can remove a device in FunPods Control to free a spot. This is our pilot policy and may change.
What ages is FunPods for?
From 3 to 18 and beyond. Early-years pods are picture-first and audio-led; teen and exam pods are focused, structured and information-dense.
Can I buy FunPods today?
Not yet. A small family pilot is running in India and North America (United States and Canada). Join the pilot and we will tell you when FunPods become available.
How does FunPods use AI?
AI adapts explanations to age and understanding, generates practice and answers follow-up questions, grounded in the pod’s content. Parents can see and switch off AI features. These capabilities are in development.
Is it safe for children?
FunPods is designed for families: parent controls, no public profiles for children, data minimisation and clear labels for AI-generated content. Read our safety page for details.
